Goodwill to Celebrate Blairsville Store’s New Location, New Look

February 10, 2016, Press Release

JOHNSTOWN, PA, February 10, 2016—Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley (GICV), Inc., headquartered in Johnstown, will celebrate the grand opening of its newly relocated Blairsville Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center on Thursday, February 18 with a 9:00 AM ribbon cutting with government and political officials, Indiana County Chamber of Commerce staff, and the community. This new facility is located at 211 Resort Plaza Drive, along Route 22 near Walmart.

In addition to the new address, customers will be greeted by a brand new look. And how does the new Blairsville Goodwill compare in size with the old location at 164 Market Street? 5100 square feet vs. 1600. That’s a lot more space to provide shoppers with a greater selection of quality donated merchandise.

And the new Blairsville Goodwill is also unique in that it will house the GoodWorks Career Corner directly inside the store, complete with workstation and computer that will allow people to conduct job searches, create résumés and cover letters, and learn about job training opportunities. And of course there’s the 1700 square-foot drive-up donation center, which makes all of Goodwill’s good work possible. Revenue generated from the sale of donated goods supports the many programs and services that Goodwill provides to people with barriers to employment. GICV operates 11 Goodwill Retail Stores and Donation Centers in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, Indiana, and Somerset counties, and a portion of Westmoreland.

The new Blairsville location will also offer new increased hours for people to shop and donate, Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 5:00 p.m.

At the February 18 grand opening, the first 100 customers will receive a large canvas Goodwill tote bag with any purchase. All attendees can register to win a $100 Goodwill gift certificate (winner does not have to be present at time of drawing).

The entire community is invited to come see what’s in store at the new Blairsville Goodwill on Thursday, February 18.
