Event to Emphasize Mentoring Program

JOHNSTOWN — Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies and the Young Professionals of the Alleghenies will team up to host an evening of games and activities for the Goodwill GoodGuides Youth Mentoring Program from 6 to 8 p.m. June 30 at Grove United Methodist Church in Moxham.

Attendance is open to current GoodGuides youth and their mentors and friends, and anyone interested in volunteering to become a mentor or learning about the GoodGuides program.

Volunteers are needed for games, activities and talking to youth about careers.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

All who attend will receive a free GoodGuides T-shirt. The event is free.

Goodwill GoodGuides Youth Mentoring Program is a national mentoring program designed to divert youth ages 12 to 17 from the juvenile justice system and support them in making positive choices, contributing to the community and exploring appropriate career choices.

Goodwill operates the program in collaboration with the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies through its Community Intervention Plan.
