Goodwill Staff Earn Certified Professional Résumé Writer Credential

August 23, 2016, Press Release

JOHNSTOWN, PA, August 23, 2016—Through the Professional Association of Résumé Writers & Career Coaches (PARW/CC), six employees of Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies have earned the Certified Professional Résumé Writer (CPRW) credential after passing the CPRW Exam.

PARWCC new logoThe PARW/CC was founded in January of 1990 as an association for career professionals to exchange information, enhance their skills, and demonstrate their commitment to providing professional services to the general public. Those who display the association’s logo demonstrate their dedication to excellence in meeting client career goals. Many members then choose to seek certification to further affirm their expertise as career professionals.

Certified Professional Résumé Writers are the career industry’s leading experts in the development of strategic résumés and demonstrate their knowledge, talent, and writing expertise in meeting the industry standard of excellence and in serving clients’ career interests.

The certification exam, consisting of four modules, tests the individual’s knowledge of the industry; the command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading; strategic thinking; and the writing and submission of a résumé and cover letter based on a hypothetical client provided by PARW/CC, which is then evaluated by the PARW/CC Certification Committee.

The Goodwill employees who possess the CPRW credential are Jacki Trexler, Project Manager, Adult Services; Karen Sellers, Career Planner; Sarah Helman, Project Manager, Youth Services; Renee Shaw, Business Services Coordinator; Mona Wiley, Career Planner; and Richard Lamm, Career Planner.
