Local Goodwill Says ‘Thank You’

Thank you. Two simple words that mean so much. Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies would like to say “thank you” to the communities we serve in a six-county area for the various forms of support you give our organization and our participants each year.
Because of you, we were able to serve more than 24,500 individuals in 2009 through services like Career Development, Job Placement, Community Employment Services for People with Disabilities, Employer Services, Recovery and Community Integration, Retail Operations, and Commercial Contracts. Because of you, families and children in need were strengthened.
How did you contribute to all of these programs and services being delivered to a six-county area? Whether you are a financial donor, a volunteer, a Goodwill store patron, a material donor, or just someone who believes in what
Goodwill stands for — you are supporting Goodwill and our mission. How? Goodwill donations make good skills possible!
Every time a purchase is made in a Goodwill store or someone drives up to an attended donor door and drops off a bag of donations, dollars are generated to support the many employment and training programs we offer. The gift of time, the gift of money, and the gift of believing in what we do also contribute to our ability to serve a worthwhile mission.
So as we held our annual Report to the Community breakfast Thursday and reflected on our many success stories of the past year, it is fitting to thank our communities on behalf of our staff, board of directors, and program participants, for doing your part to make good skills possible.
