JOHNSTOWN, PA, March 13, 2017 —Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies is reminding the community to get their donations ready for The Bon-Ton family of department stores’ semi-annual Bon-Ton Goodwill Sale happening March 15–April 1. The Bon-Ton Goodwill Sale, in its 23rd year, is the largest and longest-standing cause-partnership and department store donation drive for Goodwill in the United States.

During the 18-day event, community members can take donations of gently used items to any Bon-Ton department store and receive a generous Bon-Ton discount coupon for each item donated. The more items people donate, the more coupons they will receive. Donations will be sold at Goodwill stores in the local communities in which they are collected. Revenues will support employment training, skills development, education, and job placement.

Shoppers can support Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies by donating at The Bon-Ton in the Johnstown Galleria, 500 Galleria Drive in Richland Township, Johnstown; at The Bon-Ton in the Indiana Mall, 2334 Oakland Avenue in Indiana; and at any of Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies’ 10 Goodwill Retail Stores. For locations, visit www.GoGoodwill.org/Locations.

Coupons can be used in stores or online on regular and sale-priced items including cosmetics, fragrances, and designer brands that rarely go on sale. Discounts include:

  • 30% off a single regular or sale price ladies’, men’s, or kids’ apparel item; ladies’ accessory; or fine jewelry item except watches
  • 20% off a single regular or sale price footwear, handbag, intimate apparel item, men’s socks, underwear, sleepwear, or accessory item
  • 15% off a single regular or sale price cosmetics, fragrance, salon product, home store or luggage item, watch, toy, kitchen electric, Tech/electronics, personal or floor care, consumable, furniture, area rug, mattress, or furniture accessory item

Burger, President/CEO. “Bon-Ton customers can take pride in knowing that their donations are supporting a social enterprise that is helping people obtain jobs in their community,” he added.
