Tax Credit and Incentives Information

Goodwill is available to present information to employers on tax credits and incentives they can receive when they hire individuals from targeted groups or those who have been long-term recipients of welfare. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) reduces employers’ costs of doing business and requires little paperwork. The success and growth of this federal income tax credit for private-sector employers depends on a strong public- and private-sector partnership to help those who are most in need to find and retain jobs and gain on-the-job skills and experience. The WOTC benefits employers and increases America’s economic growth and productivity.

Another incentive to employers is the Welfare-to-Work credit in which employers are encouraged to hire individuals who have been receiving family assistance for a long period of time. For more information, contact Amy Horwath at (814) 536-3536, ext. 287 or
